Paul Hewitt, General Manager for Aston Martin–Queensland, just talking about the new V8 2019 model Vantage. It’s a complete replacement for the outgoing car that we loved and enjoyed between 2004 and 2017 which aged gracefully by winning the GT pro-class cars in the ’95–’98 car division in the 2017 Le Mans Race.
Vantage retains the classic footprint of the older models, but overall its technology and performance is different. Its power is up from 430 horsepower to 505 horsepower, and weight is down with the new Vantage coming in at just 1,530 kgs. That’s due to the aluminium construction of the vehicle, an improvement on the VH platform from before.
Add that to the power increases and the dynamics of the car start to change.
This trend continues with new technology in terms of adaptions and the ability to drive the car dynamically in different areas. Plus the mode functionality has changed the personality of the car from its sport mode into sport plus and track modes.
Finally, add the dynamic Aero programme throughout the car, the complexity of the rear diffuser across the face of the car, and its clean shape, and you get a really solid combination of Aero, power, lightness, and technology that brings the most modern of contemporary sports car feels to this machine.
It is truly stunning. It still runs on a four-litre turbo engine, thanks to Daimler Benz, and delivers 685 Newton-meters of torque and 505 horsepower. So, if you haven’t driven Vantage before, you need to. If you had a Vantage in the past, you also need to drive this distinct model to be able to experience the true advantages of the new Vantage.
Ultimately, both of these cars, the DB11 V8 and the new V8 Vantage, are available here at Sunshine Aston Martin, Aston Martin–Queensland. So, give us a call. We look forward to getting you behind the wheel of these cars.
